Pine needle tea is rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants. It has four times more vitamin C than orange juice. This bag will make several cups of pine tea. Pull some needles out and cut enough to make about two tablespoons. Add two cups of water and boil for ten minutes. Add lemon juice and honey and enjoy. Do not drink if you are pregnant or want to become pregnant. Native Americans used this tonic as a remedy to fight the sniffles, as an immune booster and to fight scurvy. One chemical in the needles, shikimic acid, displays anticancer, antiviral and antibiotic properties. Shikimic is also used in the production of Tamiflu. If you have never drank the tea before, start with a small amount to make sure it doesn't upset your stomach. You can drink uI p to a cup a day. I am not making any medical claims.
