Food Desert - A Food Desert is an urban area in which it is difficult to buy good quality fresh food.
I want Sal's to be an oasis in this food desert.
The community needs...
close, healthy food options,
high-quality plants, and seeds for their garden at an affordable price &
knowledge and know-how on how to start gardens.
We have gardeners of every level. Sal's has become a hub for exchanging ideas.
Our goal for the year is to purchase a greenhouse so that we can grow even more of our own plants to sell, extend our growing season, and have space for other gardeners in the community to learn, grow and teach.
